At least 27 people were killed when a fire erupted at an eatery in Chatuchak district, Bangkok, early Monday morning.

The tragedy happened at Na Ladprao eatery near Soi Lat Phrao 1 Road at 12.02am when many people were inside. Firefighters put out the blaze in about half an hour, according to the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation.
The fire instantly killed 27 people and injured 18 others. The dead victims consisted of nine men and 18 women. Eighteen injured people were admitted at seven hospitals and eight of them were seriously wounded.
Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul, Bangkok governor Chadchart Sittipunt and Teerapat Kachamat, director-general of the department, were among senior officials at the scene.
